What a year it was!!! In early January Matilda and I flew to Puerto Vallarta Mexico to join Holland America Line’s Veendam and we sailed to Huatulco, Guatemala, Nicaragua and disembarked in Costa Rica, flew to Ft Lauderdale and joined the Rotterdam and sailed back to Costa Rica. We overnighted in Costa Rica and joined the Zuiderdam there. We sailed to Aruba and disembarked and were scheduled to join the Seabourn Odyssey in St Kitts. Insel Air turned out to be a bit unreliable to say the least and we ended up stranded in Curacao for a few days. We finally ended up flying from Curacao to Miami, Miami to Haiti and Haiti to Guadeloupe where we finally caught the Odyssey. For four months we ship hopped back and forth between Holland America and Seabourn. FANTASTIC. Then it was home to British Columbia for an unbelievable stay at Sparking Hills Resort in Vernon, BC. Then we flew to Honolulu to join Holland America Line and sail back to Vancouver. Next we flew to Tahiti and had an unbelievable trip sailing around the South Pacific and back to Hawaii. After a short break we started our Alaska season on Seabourn Sojourn. That kept us busy all the way through the summer and into the Fall. Although we snuck in a trip on the spectacular Rocky Mountaineer.
In October my Wonderwife Nicki took me on a Scenic River cruise on the Rhine and Moselle Rivers with a week in Switzerland before and three days in Amsterdam after where we were surprised by my Dear Friend Freddie “ParrotFace” Davies and his lovely lady Lisa. What a wonderful surprise. Then it was back to the Caribbean on Seabourn Odyssey for the rest of the year.
