Deepen Client-Talent Trust with Voices Verified

Working online with people you’ve never met before poses a unique set of challenges. How can you establish trust with someone you’re meeting for the first time, and who you’re unlikely to ever meet face-to-face? We recognize that for our clients and talent, trust is an essential and foundational aspect of every job worked on our platform, and that’s why we continually develop tools and resources for our clients and talent to build a shared sense of trust, before (through talent profiles, custom auditions, SurePayTM and agreements), during (through messages and file reviews), and after a job (through ratings and reviews). Today, we’re announcing our latest effort, Voices Verified, which is a new talent verification program built on the core pillars of Identification, Community, and Expertise.

Identity, Community, and Expertise

Over the past several weeks, we’ve reviewed our Platinum Talent accounts, asking three important questions. Why? Because we know the answers to these questions are important not only to us, but to our clients and talent. They were:

  • Identity: Is this talent who they say they are?
  • Community: Is this talent in good standing with our Community and Content Guidelines, as well as our Terms of Service?
  • Expertise: Has this talent completed more than 100 jobs on Voices?

If we were able to answer each question with a ‘yes,’ then the talent in review became ‘Voices Verified.’ For more information on how we answered those questions, please visit our new Trust Center. This new verification status is now visible on talent profiles as a blue checkmark next to the talent’s name:

For now, we have gone through our Platinum Talent, and will complete the same review process for our Premium Talent before the end of this year. This status will remain for all verified talent while they are Premium or Platinum members (i.e. it will be removed if the talent downgrades to Guest) and so long as they continue to meet the three aforementioned requirements.

With this new status, we hope our clients and talent can further their trust with one another, especially on first-time engagements.

The only thing this will serve to do is make it harder for people to get their start.
New members will be put at an additional disadvantage.

      Hi Ed,

Thanks for reaching out and offering your feedback.

There are actually a number of ways that new members can promote themselves and show clients that they’re the right fit for a job, including uploading a professional demo, reviews on your profile, number of completed jobs, writing a compelling overview, service description, experience, client list, and education.

Wow – another challenge for newer talent to try to overcome. Feel like not having a Verified check will amount to having a black mark on my profile?

      Hi Jon,

Thanks for reaching out with your comment. We understand your concern.

There are actually many ways a client can see the level of expertise a talent has, including a professional demo, reviews on your profile, number of completed jobs, a talent’s overview, service description, experience, client list, and education.
