English to Cantonese Translation

As a Chinese American, I know the pain of seeing bad or robotic-sounding translations, it is really very dehumanizing and turns the viewer away. It is also very important to me that the translation captures the a certain emotion, because Cantonese is a very animated and expressive language.
As a Cantonese voice actress, I understand that this is exacerbated by the lack of uniformity in written Cantonese and the community's hesitancy to literally write it out.
So I focus on making the translation easy to speak and capturing the client's desired tone of the piece. I also do my best to use universally accepted words in Cantonese, knowing the language is meant to be spoken, and various written words can usually mean the same thing.
I provide translation, localization, and machine-translation post-edit services.

As a Chinese American, I know the pain of receiving bad or robotic-sounding translations, it is really very dehumanizing and turns the reader away.
So I focus on the local parlance of the Chinese language and making the translation easy to read for the audience, while not losing the essence of the English original. For material outside the US, I frequently do research into the local context as well.
