About Liz Fodor

I've been doing voiceover for 20+ years. My training started when I was thrown into the booth to re-voice a Nickelodeon on-air character because the original performer was about to give birth to twins. And, before I knew it, I was being asked to voice other characters and promos, etc, and it all just built from there. Talk about a lucky break!

I edit, de-breath, and EQ. I can also dub to picture. And, I'll always give you several reads to choose from. Options are delicious AND nutritious.

Service Overview

Voice Over

I was that kid who always got in trouble for impersonating my favorite tv and movie characters in class. Good thing there was a way to make a living at it. In my home studio, I voice everything from cartoons and commercials to corporate explainers and international short films. I also do a lot of accent work: British, Australian, Irish, German, French, Italian, New York, Midwest US, Southern US...

As a musician, I'm very passionate about great-sounding audio, so I always clean up & edit my recordings which means no clicks, pops, breaths or water gulps.

I'm currently nominated for 2 One Voice Awards 2022--Voiceover Artist of the Year & Best TV/Web Promo VO, and was twice honored in 2021 with 2 One Voice Awards nominations for Best Overall Performance in a Movie or Game Trailer & Best International Voiceover Performance-- and winner of the 2021 Undie Award for Outstanding VO Artist.

Skill Overview

Music Composition

I love scoring to picture... I even briefly trained at Juilliard specifically for cinematic scoring... whether for a short promo or a short film, dramatic or comedic. I'm a classically trained violinist, so my composition style tends to be more cinematic/orchestral even when writing pop songs. Plucky and upbeat. Lush and languid. I love both styles.
I currently sing with a NYC chorus (and was lucky enough to perform at Carnegie Hall in 2019). During the pandemic, I've been mixing and editing our virtual concerts consisting of 50+ singers each quarter. If THAT'S not great choral-mix training, I don't know what is. haha

Skill Overview

Singers

I sing with the Schiller Institute NYC Chorus--we sing classical as well as spirituals. In 2019, we were lucky enough to sing at Carnegie Hall for the 250th birthday celebration of Beethoven. Such an unforgettable experience.

My voice is best suited to light classical and jazz, or generally smooth styles of music. Over the years, I've sang for some cable network promos, brand jingles, and as part of a score for a few short films. I've also composed several scores and pieces for some cable tv interstitial series, short films as well as potential brand theme songs.

I was trained as a classical violinist and spent most of my childhood playing in orchestras, quartets and chamber groups.
