My business partner and I had the pleasure of working with Toby Ricketts on our 5-part documentary series for CuriosityStream. To say we were creatively invested in the series is an understatement; we had directed every scene and written every line in each of the 5 scripts. It goes without saying, we knew that finding the perfect narrator for our series was key to giving our story a voice. Toby was that voice. Until we heard him utter those first few lines, we didn't know exactly what the show would sound like. With Toby's incredibly rich voice, his ability to vacillate between serious tones and dry wit, not to mention his ability to nail the timing and intonation of every take almost immediately, we soon found ourselves with a beautifully narrated series thanks in huge part to Toby. Toby is not only a professional of the first-class, he is flexible and fun to work with. He takes direction well but also offers really good ideas for fun/interesting ways to read certain lines.
